Major Engineering Works to Disrupt Chiltern Railways Services on Sunday 20 July

Passengers using Chiltern Railways are being advised to plan ahead as major engineering works will disrupt travel between Warwick Parkway and Solihull on Sunday 20 July, with rail replacement buses operating in place of train services until 4pm.

The disruption is due to planned track maintenance in the Dorridge area, which is being carried out to ensure future safety and reliability of the railway network. The work has been scheduled during a quieter travel period to minimise impact on customers and avoid clashes with major sporting events.

Replacement Bus Services

While the line is closed, rail replacement buses will serve the following routes in both directions:

  • Warwick Parkway – Dorridge – Solihull
  • Warwick Parkway – Hatton – Lapworth – Dorridge – Solihull

These buses will connect with Chiltern Railways services to and from Birmingham Moor Street at Solihull, and to and from London Marylebone at Warwick Parkway.

Trains Resume in Late Afternoon

The first trains to run after the line reopens at 4pm will be:

  • London Marylebone to Birmingham Moor Street: departing 3:00pm
  • Birmingham Moor Street to London Marylebone: departing 4:37pm

Passengers are strongly advised to check their journey in advance, allow extra travel time, and book tickets ahead of the day. Full travel details and updates are available on the Chiltern Railways website.
