Age UK Solihull has announced a new partnership with local home care provider Caremark Solihull, aimed at boosting support for older people across the borough through fundraising, community events and volunteering.
The partnership launched in dramatic fashion, with Caremark Solihull Managing Director Herkesh Malhi taking to the skies for a tandem skydive in aid of the charity, raising over £800. The daring leap marks just the beginning of what both organisations hope will be a long-lasting and impactful collaboration.
As part of the partnership, Caremark Solihull will support Age UK Solihull in a number of ways, including sponsoring events, taking part in staff fundraising challenges, and contributing to the popular Big Knit campaign by collecting the charity’s iconic little woolly hats.
Herkesh Malhi is no stranger to Age UK Solihull, having volunteered with the charity for several years—first as a befriender, and more recently at one of its community lunch clubs.
“I’ve seen first-hand the impact Age UK Solihull has, and I’m pleased our team can play a part in helping them continue their fantastic work,” said Malhi. “We are really proud to be working with Age UK Solihull. The charity’s mission closely aligns with our own values at Caremark Solihull—supporting older people to live well and independently in their own homes.”
Age UK Solihull provides vital services to older people in the area, including advice and information, wellbeing support, social activities, and companionship, all designed to combat loneliness and improve quality of life.
Rebecca Jacob, Fundraising Manager at Age UK Solihull, welcomed the partnership, saying:
“We’re so excited to be partnered with Caremark Solihull. Herkesh’s skydive and the wider support from the Caremark team will make a real difference to older people locally. Every pound raised, every hour volunteered, and every hat knitted helps us reach more people who need our help—whether that’s a friendly chat, expert advice or a warm and welcoming lunch club. This partnership shows the power of the community coming together to support older residents in later life.”
With shared values and a strong community focus, the new partnership looks set to deliver meaningful support, connection, and fun for Solihull’s older residents in the months ahead.
