Solihull Moors have confirmed their participation in the 2025/26 National League Cup, marking the club’s return to the competition after opting out last season.
The tournament, which brings together Enterprise League sides, Premier League 2 development squads, and select Championship clubs, offers a unique midweek fixture schedule designed to test depth and develop younger talent.
Moors are set to face Everton, Burnley, Blackburn Rovers, and Manchester United in the group stage, with all matches being hosted at Damson Parkway. The top teams will progress to the knockout rounds.
Chairman Darryl Eales said the decision to rejoin the competition followed positive feedback from other clubs:
“Last season we opted out of the competition as we were unclear on how the competition format would operate.
“Having spoken to a number of clubs who did participate, the view was generally positive about the competition and the relatively flexible rules regarding team selection.
“On this basis, and with further development of the rules and the match schedule—one extra game per month before Christmas—we felt that participating was justified, especially in developing our younger players.”
The competition is expected to provide valuable experience for Moors’ emerging talent while keeping squad players match-fit in a structured setting.
Full fixture dates will be announced in the coming weeks.
