Festival season is in full swing across the West Midlands, with a huge variety of events lined up over the coming months. From family-friendly fun to specialist music, culture, and community celebrations, there’s something for everyone across the region.
Here’s your guide to some of the biggest and best festivals taking place this summer:
Birmingham & The Black Country
- Sandwell & Birmingham Mela
Billed as the biggest South Asian music festival in Europe, this vibrant celebration returns to Victoria Park in Smethwick on 19–20 July, with more than 50,000 visitors expected. - CoCoMAD
A quirky and inclusive festival of music, art, dance, science, circus, and food at Cotteridge Park on 5 July. Best of all? Entry is completely free. - Black Country Festival
A month-long celebration of Black Country culture with events throughout the area. Highlights include:- Willenhall Transport Show, 29 June
- Sandwell Pride, 30 June at Sandwell Valley Country Park
- MADE Festival
Now reimagined as a series of daytime events in Digbeth, MADE is showcasing local talent in music and art. The first event took place on 31 May, with more shows planned throughout summer.
Coventry & Warwickshire
- Godiva Festival
Coventry’s flagship music festival returns to War Memorial Park from 4–6 July, headlined by Marc Almond, Clean Bandit, and Ocean Colour Scene. Ticket prices remain frozen this year. - Coventry Summer Beer Festival
Running from 30 July to 3 August at Fargo Village, this celebration of craft beer includes live music and free entry. - Warwick Folk Festival
From 24–27 July at Castle Park, with folk favourites including Richard Thompson, Kate Rusby, and Le Vent du Nord.
Herefordshire & Worcestershire
- Lakefest
Held at Eastnor Castle from 6–10 August, this multi-genre festival features Faithless, Busted, Pixie Lott, and a Groove Armada DJ set, alongside comedy, crafts, and gaming. - Leominster Festival
A community-run festival from 1–14 June, featuring a colour run, karaoke, kids’ disco, street quiz, and much more. - Ledbury Poetry Festival
Running 27 June–6 July, this 10-day event includes workshops, readings, and virtual sessions. Highlights include poetry performances by Alistair McGowan and interactive children’s sessions.
Shropshire
- Live at Ludlow Castle
Taking place over two weekends (17–19 July and 25–27 July), acts include Olly Murs, Texas, The Script, Supergrass, and Eurovision hopefuls Remember Monday. - Shrewsbury Folk Festival
Held from 22–25 August, this festival brings folk artists from around the world to four stages, with workshops, ceilidhs, artisan shopping, and a children’s festival. - Alderfest
On 4–5 July, Alderford Lake in Whitchurch hosts a fun family weekend with performances from Ella Henderson, Pixie Lott, Toploader, and the Vengaboys. - Telford Balloon Fiesta
Returning 22–24 August at Telford Town Park, this visually stunning event includes the night glow display, entertainment, and family activities.
Staffordshire
- Forest Live at Cannock Chase
Running 25–28 June, this major music event features Sting, Snow Patrol, Nile Rodgers & Chic, and James — all set in a natural forest amphitheatre. - Trentham Summer Concerts
A five-weekend series of live music at Trentham Estate from 27 June to 26 July, including tributes to Queen, a Millennial Soundtrack, and Modern Country. - Newcastle Jazz & Blues Festival
The 18th edition runs 25–27 July, with over 70 performances across 21 venues in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
Wolverhampton
- WV1 Fest
A two-day rock tribute festival on 9–10 August, featuring acts like Knotslip and Link N Park across two stages. - Black Country Festival Events
A regional celebration uniting Dudley, Wolverhampton, Walsall, and Sandwell, with standout events including:- Wolverhampton Armed Forces Day, 28 June at Park Road West, featuring a military parade, funfair, and family activities
